To become a licensed CrossFit affiliate, there are a few steps to complete. Follow along with the guide below to ensure you've got everything covered as you go through the process.

First, let's get on the same page. Start here. You'll need to be logged in to your CrossFit.com account.

Click the red “Apply for Affiliation” button.

This page will ensure your Level 1 certificate is completed and active. If not, it will point you toward getting that taken care of.

Next, you will fill out your affiliate information. This includes:

  • Qualifications (L1, etc.)

  • Business contact information (phone number, address, etc.)

  • About your affiliate (legal business name, org/business type, name options, gym address)

Then you will answer a few essay questions telling us why you want to open an affiliate. Those include:

Below are a series of essay questions. Responses do not need to be long, but they should be from the heart. The more information you provide us the better we can evaluate you.

  • Explain what CrossFit means to you, why you want to become a CrossFit affiliate, and what you want to achieve as an affiliate.

  • Please give us some background information on yourself.

  • Please list any people you will be partnering with.

  • Please give us some information on your exposure to CrossFit (work at or exposure to other CrossFit facilities, length of time training with CrossFit methods, etc.)

  • What past or future CrossFit events have you attended or plan on attending?

  • Will you be a CrossFit-only facility or if you will offer other types of fitness classes?

On the next page, you have the opportunity to review and edit your information. Then click submit!

Once submitted, you should see this page:

You will also receive a confirmation email.
